Whether you’ve been diagnosed with a painful condition such as fibromyalgia, small fibre neuropathy, or suffer with any type of chronic pain; it can be understandably difficult to stay positive. If you are in the first stages of a painful condition and haven’t had a formal diagnosis it can be frustrating and take a long time, with lots of tests to get an accurate idea of what is going on and what could happen.
A lot of conditions have similar symptoms but different causes and treatments, and it be a take too long and /or a lot of money to go through a process of elimination to get to an answer.

You then get to a stage where you have a long list of treatments, pain killers, topical anaesthetics, anti-depressants, dietary requirements and so on.
Physiotherapy, tens machines, massage, and gentle exercise can all help relieve symptoms…
But, the one thing that can make the biggest difference, however bad physical symptoms get is our attitude. Whilst we can’t control everything that happens to us, our genetics or just plain luck… we can change the way we see and even feel things.
It’s understandable that if you are in pain, you can feel incredibly frustrated, angry, and overwhelmed, which can lead to feeling even worse and catastrophising about the future.
It takes work to stay positive, and it doesn’t mean changing from being realistic to being naive or delusional, denying reality or only relying on alternative ideas whilst dismissing anything conventional.
You can take all the help you can get and use what works for you.
To start, if you don’t believe in yourself and your inner strength, and your innate ability to cope with anything, you can borrow that belief from someone else.
I know that you are as strong and capable as anyone else.
If someone else can deal a situation positively, you can too.
“There is nothing good or bad, but thinking makes it so”
If you believe in something outside of yourself, whether it is God, the universe or fate, that can be a great comfort, knowing that there is a reason and a lesson in any experience and “good” or “bad” are only our perceptions. Going through any difficult situation works on us and makes us the type of person that can deal with anything. You just have to keep moving to get through it.
I work with people that are going through stressful and often painful experiences, and the one thing that makes the difference is their outlook.
When we change our perception we can handle whatever arises.
You can learn visualisation to see yourself healing and feeling better.
Breathing techniques to handle pain in the moment and use hypnosis, energy and meditation to program your mind to feel good and focus on the positive.
I know if you going through a tough time, it can be exhausting and maybe you’ve tried everything you can think of, but I also know things can change for the better when we put our minds to it.
I recorded the following track to help you deal with pain and focus on healing.
It will help you to relax and get a good night’s sleep and contains visualisations, affirmations and hypnotic suggestions to help you reduce anxiety, feel positive and cope with anything.
Please get in touch if you would like to arrange one to one help or prefer to join a group session online.
In the meantime I hope you find this useful.
All the best.
